YAPPERS Overview
The YAPPERS (Youth Area Philanthropists) comprise the youth board of the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque. These 15 enthusiastic high school juniors and seniors from Dubuque are volunteers, philanthropists, grantmakers, and community leaders of today!
Not only do the YAPPERS impact the community with service projects such as Feed the Need, Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, Project Linus, and helping with childcare during the Circles program, but they impact each other from the friendships that grow from working side by side.
Many of the YAPPERS this year are juniors. When the year started it was easy to tell who friends were before the program year started. After 9 months have bi-weekly meetings and team building experiences, it would seem that they've all been friends for years. The chemistry, leadership, and companionship formed among these students are irrefutable.
